One summer camp is reaching out to 'trans and non-binary youth' online in light of coronavirus restrictions. Coronavirus forced New Hampshire's Aranu'tiq to shutter operations, but that didn't stop them from finding a way to reach kids with their advocacy for trans and non-binary youth.

Aranu'tiq, a camp for transgender and non-binary kids, has created an album of songs to be distributed online to trans and non-binary kids who are unable to make it to camp due to coronavirus concerns, NPR reports.

Julie Be, who helps run the camp, is a music therapist and artist who has recorded a collection of transgender and nonbinary related tunes geared towards the children who are missing out on their summer camp experience.

Be, who is one half of the children's musical duo Ants on a Log, along with Anya Rose, crafts tunes that use gender neutral pronouns and humour to talk about children's gender.

The album they created, Trans & Nonbinary Kids Mix, was created to connect kids across a diverse group of ages, from elementary school to early highschool years. "I think people underestimate the ability for younger kids to know about gender, "there's a lot of research that shows that kids know what their gender is, even around age 2," Be told NPR.
