Target has removed Dr. Debra Soh's book, The End of Gender: Debunking the Myths about Sex and Identity in Our Society from their online selection after what a similar controversy involving their banning of book on gender by Abigail Shrier.
Dr. Soh tweeted out two screenshots on Friday evening, depicting the book disappearing from the official Target website.
Target made headlines on Thursday after banning Abigail Shrier's book, Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters from their selection after only a few complaints and accusations of "transphobia." Target then reinstated the book almost immediately on Friday morning.
The company apologized for deleting Shrier's book, only to delete Debra Soh's book hours later. Target has yet to respond as of Friday evening as to why they deleted Dr. Soh's book, although some speculate that their intent may be similar to that of banning Shrier's book. Both books discuss gender and both books have been falsely labelled as "transphobic" by a few activists.
In an interview with The Post Millennial, Dr. Soh said, "Basic, scientific information about gender and biology is not hateful." Dr. Soh is a well respected Sexologist and Neuroscientist. Her book has received praise for being scientific and nuanced.
Dr. Soh's book is still available in all other convention book retailers, such as Amazon, and Indigo.
