A 16-year-old boy has been identified by London police as the victim of a shooting that took place in a high rise building on Tuesday.

Owen Nicholas Serieska was shot and killed in an apartment at 580 Dundas St, according to CTV News.

A 19-year-old man named Jesse Joseph Winstanley has been charged with manslaughter by police, following the incident.

Winstanley is now in custody and is set to make a court appearance on Wednesday.

The firearm was recovered at the scene and police noted that the two people involved knew each other.

The incident occurred close to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and happened to be right across from police headquarters.

Many people posted their condolences to Serieska’s Facebook page.

“Tonight one of my best friends was taken from me and many other people way too soon,” one poster wrote.
