There’s nothing progressive about voting for a segregationist who opposed gay marriage

Democrats have decided that their best bet at taking back the White House is an old white segregationist and a cop who locked up black men for possessing marijuana.

If I wasn’t aware of the Democrats’ willingness to do, say, or destroy anything in the name of retaining power, I would assume they were actively trying to lose the 2020 election. After years of the party spewing out platitudes about glass ceilings and anti-police rhetoric, they decided that their best bet at taking back the White House is an old white segregationist and a cop who locked up black men for possessing marijuana.

Despite the left becoming increasingly “woke” and insistent on progressive change, I have yet to hear anyone from that side of the aisle present a coherent argument as to why Joe Biden is in any way, shape, or form a progressive candidate. In fact, both his political history and many of the things he says today speak to the opposite. He is a true regressive.

Joe Biden was a literal segregationist. He led the charge on the issue of segregation as a leader in anti-busing in the 70’s. In a 1977 report on school desegregation, the Civil Rights Commission recounted Biden’s work as “stymieing school integration.” It’s quite bewildering that this fact is largely ignored, especially considering it was called out by Harris herself before her complete moral turnaround when she accepted the offer for VP.

Furthering his poor track record with race, in 2010 Biden delivered a eulogy for fellow segregationist and KKK leader Robert Byrd. The media has virtually ignored this and refuses to take him to task.

When you take this bizarre moment into context with his statements of how black voters “ain’t black” if they don’t vote for him, or his famous Freudian slip “poor kids can be just as bright as white kids,” it’s impossible to  view Biden as anything other than a racist.

And do we even need to rehash his refusal to support gay marriage until it was politically convenient? It wasn’t until 2012 that he finally coughed up his approval for gay people to be legally allowed to wed. In contrast, Donald Trump entered his first term already supporting gay marriage despite the entirety of the Left saying that he was sure to overturn it and attack the LGBT community. They are especially silent on Trump’s campaign to decriminalize homosexuality globally, but that’s to be expected.

The mainstream media is insistent on completely ignoring every instance of Joe Biden’s racism, whether it’s an ignorant comment in an interview (on the rare occasion he isn’t speaking from a teleprompter) or his political history. Whether or not the American people choose to also ignore these things will be determined on November 3rd.
