On Friday, tens of thousands from across the country gathered in Washington, DC, for the 49th annual March for Life. Each year, thousands of adults and school-aged children march in the nation's capital in support of ending abortion. In 2022, the theme set for the march was "Equality Begins in the Womb."
"As our country continues to advance along the path to a more just society, we cannot ignore the discrimination that is taking place against vulnerable unborn babies who some view as 'less than' others. In order to create a more just society, we must recognize that equality begins in the womb," said Jeanne F. Mancini, president of March for Life.

This year's March for Life event follows closely on the heels of the Supreme Court ruling last month that the Texas Heartbeat Act could remain in effect pending the legal challenges from a lawsuit launched by abortion providers.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court refused to speed up the ongoing court case over the state's ban on most abortions. "Over dissents from the three liberal justices, the court declined to order a federal appeals court to return the case to a federal judge who had temporarily blocked the law's enforcement. The court offered no explanation for its action," reported CBS News.
