Liberal Minister for Infrastructure Catherine McKenna tweeted that state-sponsored arbitrary detentions were "illegal and immoral" and "they need to stop now."

This as the Trudeau Liberals continue to force travellers who come back into Canada to enter COVID hotel facilities, at their own expense.

The hotels, which have been described as "prison-like" by those who have been forced into their confines. While the hotels are not to be compared to the state-sponsored arbitrary detentions of countries such as China, who has had two Canadians in their possession as a retaliation method to Canada's arresting of Huawei tech royalty Meng Wanzhou, McKenna's tweet comes at a time that speaks to the Liberals' ability to virtue signal.

The Canada Public Health Agency says there has been over 5,000 people detained in COVID Hotels since the last week of January.

Those who have stayed in the hotels have reported a jail-like, and one that they had no choice in going to: I was like… "Where am I going, why am I going there?’" said Mitch Beaulieu, who stayed at a facility, told CTV News. "They were like, 'We'll tell you everything when you get there.'"

"Where are the hidden cameras? I thought this was crazy," he continued. "I get out there and there was plastic all over, people walking around in...hazmat suits…it was like jail pretty much."
