Environment Canada has predicted a chance of flurries for Toronto this weekend, BlogTO reports. While northern Ontario and some of southern Ontario have already seen their first snowfall of the year, Toronto has not yet gotten any.
As the temperature is expected to drop a bit below zero on Sunday night, Environment Canada is predicting a 40% "chance of rain showers or flurries."
It is possible, therefore, that it may not snow at all this October. Environment Canada is not predicting any more chances of snow until November, so Torontonians may get lucky this month.
The temperature is also supposed to drop below freezing on Thursday and Friday nights, a chilly end to an abnormally warm October month for Torontonians. November is also predicted to be warmer than usual, contrasting with the abnormally cold November of 2019.
According to the Weather Network, climatologists are predicting "periods of pleasant fall weather that will continue well into November. This should be ideal for enjoying the fall foliage and a variety of outdoor activities."
Such conditions will likely come as a relief to many restaurants which have shared concerns over pandemic-related restrictions on indoor dining. Warmer weather will allow dining establishments to feasibly maintain outdoor patios for a longer period.
