Shocking scenes erupted inside the Montana State Capitol on Monday after riot police were forced to respond to far-left activists that disrupted legislative session over the censure of trans-identified representative Zooey Zephyr.

In a joint operation conducted by Montana Highway Patrol and the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office, law enforcement officers decked-out in riot gear descended upon the observation gallery of the House chamber and arrested multiple members of the group, which resulted in the protest being dispersed, according to the New York Post.

The Montana State House of Representatives voted to censure Democrat Zooey Zephyr, the state's first trans-identified representative, after she made "inappropriate" remarks last week when when the House debated amendments to Senate Bill 99, or child sex changes for minors.

"The only thing I will say is, if you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments, I hope the next time there's an invocation when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands," Zephyr said to her colleagues.

The House then voted to censure Zephyr, citing "hate-filled comments," the outlet reports.

"I want to be clear: No amount of silencing tactics will deter me from standing up for the rights of the transgender community," Zephyr said after the House voted for the censure.

"I will not apologize for speaking with clarity and precision about the harm these bills cause. Montana Republicans say they want an apology, but what they really want is silence as they take away the rights of trans and queer Montanans."

Zephyr's censure failed to sit well with the far-left activists in the community, and they descended upon the state capitol on Monday in protest.

The group entered the gallery of the House chamber and chanted, “Let her speak!" disrupting legislative session and prompting police to respond.

Protesters inside the capitol waved rainbow flags and wore rainbow-colored apparel as they were arrested by law enforcement officers.

Montana Highway Patrol and the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office have not yet specified how many protesters were arrested on Monday.
