In the complaint filed with the state's Department of Law and Public Safety on October 7, Goebert reported the August incident in which King Spa & Sauna in Palisades Park supposedly violated Goebert's "civil rights," reported Reduxx.
According to the complaint, Goebert was assigned a "male token" upon arriving at the spa, and was questioned about having bottom surgery before being granted access to the changing and bathing areas. On the spa's website, it is stated that "if you are a K-spa newbie and uncomfortable being nude, you could skip the bath house… For bathhouse users, you must be fully nude." The website also explicitly states that there are separate areas for men and women.
Goebert told the staff member that Goebert hadn't undergone bottom surgery, to which the worker responded by offering access to the co-ed facilities, which require guests to be clothed. Goebert wasn't happy with this compromise and complained, prompting the King Spa & Sauna manager to give a refund and ask the complainer to leave.
Two months later, the former Army sergeant complained in the suit about the business refusing "to accommodate Complainant so she could use the facilities in accordance with her gender identity," and requested compensation, "including, but not limited to, affirmative relief, and compensatory damages for economic loss, humiliation, mental pain and suffering."
In a Facebook post, Goebert recommended a more gender-accepting Korean-style spa, which allows for transgender-identifying males to use the same facilities as nude females. According to Goebert's endorsed spa, the Island Spa & Sauna in Edison, "all guests, including transgender guests, have the right to access the spa in a manner consistent with their gender identity and gender expression. "
A female former patron of the trans-inclusive spa told Reduxx that she and her friends were "horrified" to learn that this "fetishist" is using female bathhouses, where children as young as ten years old are allowed.
"It fills me with dread knowing this fetishist is going to be there and we wouldn't know when. I am never going there again," she said. "I am absolutely concerned about other women and girls. My circle is mainly Asian women and everyone was horrified to hear about it. We won't be going there now."
She continued, posing the question; "Why should a naked man be in there with the women at all?"
"We don't care about his gender identity. He can always use the co-ed section. Why does he want to be where women and girls are naked? The spa is used by teen girls, too," the woman added.
In June of 2021, a similar controversy occurred in which a male who identified as a transgender woman, Darren Merger, allegedly exposed his genitals to a little girl and several women at the Los Angeles Wi Spa. While the complaints were written off as "transphobic" by left-wing trans activists, Merger was discovered to be a sex offender.
"In June 2021, a video recorded at Wi Spa went viral. It showed women complaining about a nude man in the women's section. The incident was dismissed as a transphobic hoax by left-wing press. I investigated & found out a sex offender was the suspect," reported The Post Millennial's Andy Ngo.
In 2018, Merger had exposed himself to women and children in another locker room facility.
Merger was eventually apprehended after several months following the latest act of indecent exposure in December.
