A Portland, Maine substitute teacher has been fired after middle school students reportedly viewed inappropriate TikTok videos posted to the teacher’s account, which the teacher allegedly encouraged students to view.

Lydia Lamere, a biological male that identifies as a female, was a substitute teacher at King Middle School in Portland.

According to The Maine Wire, one King Middle School student told her parents last month that Lamere had written the handle of Lamere’s TikTok account on the classroom’s whiteboard, and reportedly encouraged students to check the account out.

A father of a King Middle School student said he was made aware of the TikTok account through his daughter, who showed a group text with other students discussing the videos.

"Her gender or sexuality has nothing to do with why I’m upset," said Davey. "The violation here is the sexualization of children."

"My daughter showed me group text messages where all the students were talking about it," said Mark Davey, who added that he has asked school principal Caitlin LeClair about the incident, but has yet to receive a response.

"I wouldn’t be surprised if [Lamere] was scrubbing her social media at the guidance of the school," Davey said.

Lamere’s account appears to have been scrubbed, containing just six videos and including a bio that reads, "account inactive. Minors do not interact 18+."

Videos remaining open for public viewing include one marking one year since Lamere’s surgery, one calling out someone for "misgendering" Lamere, and one video titled "Probably my last video on this account. Love y’all," posted on January 20, the same day LeClair sent the letter informing of Lamere’s termination at the school.

The January 20th video features an animation of Plato’s Republic tale  "The Ring of Gyges," which according to Reduxx, tells the tale of a shepherd with a magic ring granting the powers of invisibility, which he uses to murder a monarch and take over.

"… this story illustrate[s] how people can apparently benefit by acting unjustly. After all, wouldn’t any rational person act like Gyges if presented the opportunity to get what they desired without consequence? The only reason anyone conducts themselves virtuously is due to external influences … So it’s appearing – not actually being – virtuous that matters," the TikTok video states.

A video posted by Lamere late last week revealed that Lamere set most of the account’s videos as private because Lamere was being "doxxed."

"Idk if you’ve ever had the eye of Sauron upon you, but it’s genuinely very scary. I’m glad I’ve lived a good life without much to hide, but I’d rather not have the public picking apart every moment of my digital life for the last 4 years. For those who don’t know, I got very doxxed this week. Very tiring, any help would be appreciated," the video’s description states.

One video obtained by The Maine Wire from Lamere’s account before it was locked down featured Lamere posing provocatively in just a towel. "I just got out of the shower, so I thought I would record a little TikTok," Lamere said.

Another video, seen by Reduxx, heard the teacher talking about "kink" and different sexual positions.

In the letter informing parents of Lamere’s dismissal, LeClair wrote, "On Thursday I was made aware of concerns that students were accessing videos late Wednesday on TikTok."

"As a result of our investigation the employee will not return to King," said LeClair.

"As the day unfolded, it became apparent that a lot of students were talking about the TikTok account," LeClair wrote in her email, telling parents that the investigation into Lamere was "thorough."

In a separate email sent on January 21, LeClair said that there is no evidence the incident resulted in the sexual or mental abuse of children.

According to The Maine Wire, Lamere has also gone by the names Chris Lamere, Lydia Moon, Clodagh Moon, and Clodagh Lamere, and has identified as a transgender woman, non-binary, and a transgender lesbian.
