Hasbro is planning to remove one of its popular Trolls dolls from shelves due to numerous complaints about the location of a button on the doll, according to CTV News.

It appears that well over 150,000 people signed a petition asking for the doll to be removed. There is a button on the stomach of the doll that will cause it to sing or ask for a hug. But there is another hidden button that is potentially problematic.

The problem with this particular doll, the "Trolls World Tour Giggle and Sing Poppy," is that the button is in a very wrong place. What's worse is that, when pressed, the hidden button causes the doll to say things such as "ohhh" and "weee."

We are including one of the many videos posted on Twitter so that the reader can understand completely what the issue is.

Julie Duffy, speaking on behalf of Hasbro, issued a statement saying that the second button was implemented so that the doll reacts when seated, and it seemed like a logical place to put the button for that reasons.

Duffy reiterated in her statement that the unfortunate positioning of the button was not done with any nefarious intention whatsoever. Also, Hasbro will gladly provide free replacements for people who have already purchased the doll for one of similar value.

2020 seems to be a good year for controversial dolls. Back in January, in Russia, what was possibly the world's first anatomically correct transgender doll was manufactured. It's still not clear whether this happened by mistake or on purpose, given the current political and social climate in that country. It's possible that it was a mistake in the production process.
