Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed on Thursday that all provinces and territories in Canada will adopt a federal standard for proof-of-vaccination certificates.
Certificates will be used for both domestic and international travel, he said.
The standard is already in use in Ontario, Quebec, Saskatoon, Nova Scotia., Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.
All provinces and territories have confirmed that they will be moving forward with a standardized national proof of vaccination... [provinces and territories mentioned above] have already put in use the national standard for proof of vaccination," said Trudeau.
"As Canadians look to stat travelling again, there will be a standardized proof of vaccination certificate. We will be picking up the tab for them at the federal level, to ensure that all provinces are able to do it, and we'll also move forward on our other commitments around vaccination and safety... Which is moving forward on legislation to keep healthcare workers safe from intimidation," said the prime minister.
