A Canadian-made rapid home test for coronavirus has been rejected by the Trudeau government despite being used in the European Union and the United States.
Rapid Response, a testing kit manufactured by an Ontario company called BTNX, is being used throughout the world, but the Trudeau government is refusing to approve its use in Canada, citing the World Health Organization's guidance as its reason.
Appearing on CBC Morning Live on Thursday, John Northcott explained that the finger-prick test costs just $10 dollars. "At the moment, Health Canada is saying they are with the WHO, where they are more in favour of a clinal type test for this," Northcott said.

"There are those that will say that any weapon we can use would be a useful one and certainly others around the world are doing that as well," Northcott added.
The World Health Organization, whose opinion Canada is heavily relying upon, has come under heavy fire for first, failing to acknowledge data from Taiwan that coronavirus spread person to person, second, opposing a travel ban on China as China was infecting the world, and third, for failing to advise that citizens wear masks as a preventative measure against the pandemic.
