Trudeau government spent $178,000 on travel to climate change conference

Justin Trudeau's minister for the environment spent $178,000 on air travel to a UN climate change conference in Spain, according to Blacklock's Reporter.

The total cost of the trip came to $680,000, which included two chauffeurs that drove the environment minister and his team around Madrid.

At the conference itself, delegates were told that their "house is on fire," presumably as a result of excessive air and car travel that the Liberal government continues to enjoy.

The conference took place in Madrid on December 2, 2019. Although the entire cost of the Canadian delegation's attendance was almost $700,000, the team managed to rack up $178,282 alone in air, taxi, and chauffeur fees.

Despite this, the Trudeau government has admitted that the "final costs which could be higher." No final estimation has yet been produced for this trip, as "there are a number of invoices and claims…that have yet to be processed."

Trudeau's Department for the Environment did not tell the public exactly who attend this conference, although the United Nations revealed that there were 144 Canadians at the conference.

This number reportedly includes "thirteen federal policy analysts, four deputy and assistant deputy ministers, four spokespeople, two chauffeurs and two legal counsel."

Swedish climate activist, Greta Thunberg, also appeared at the conference, telling the attentive politicians "When you talk in public you should start with something personal or emotional to get everyone’s attention."

Going further with her alarmist crash-course, Thunberg said "Say things like, ‘Our house is on fire,’ ‘I want you to panic’ or ‘How dare you?'"
