With Canada's capital in a state of emergency, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has taken another day away from the public.
While Saturday was listed as a "personal day" for Trudeau on his official itinerary, Monday was listed as a day of "private meetings."
The prime minister was widely criticized for taking days to work from home after a supposed exposure to Omicron, that took place on the same day that the freedom convoy rolled in from Ottawa.
Days later, the prime minister would confirm that he had contracted COVID-19 from one of his children, and would have to work from home for some time.
The prime minister is known for his use of personal days amid political scandal.
In 2020, Trudeau took nearly a week straight of personal days amid the WE Scandal. In 2019 alone, Trudeau took 91 days to himself.
In September of 2021, Trudeau was found surfing in British Columbia when he was supposed to be attending an events for the first-ever day of truth and reconciliation. "Yes the PM is spending time in Tofino with family for a few days," Trudeau’s spokesperson wrote at the time.
Trudeau also took days off of work in January of this year, amid the peak of the Omicron wave.
