Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife of nearly 15 years, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, is in self-isolation after experiencing mild flu-like symptoms, including a low fever last night.
The news comes from the Prime Minister's Office, who said in a statement that Sophie Gregoire was recently in London, UK for a speaking event when the symptoms started to show.
The release also stated that Prime Minister Trudeau will be working from home in self-isolation until the tests come back.
"[Sophie Gregoire] Trudeau immediately sought medical advice, and is being tested for the COVID-19 virus. She is self-isolating at home awaiting test results, and her symptoms have since subsided."
Justin Trudeau was also recently exposed to the coronavirus at an event he attended with Ontario Premier Doug Ford in the province. An attendee at the event tested positive for the virus. Premier Ford announced yesterday that he was in good health and was not experiencing symptoms.

The PMO's statement continued: "The doctor's advice to the Prime Minister is to continue daily activities while self-monitoring, given he is exhibiting no symptoms himself. However, out of an abundance of caution, the Prime Minister is opting to self-isolate and work from home until receiving Sophie's results."
The news was later confirmed when Justin Trudeau tweeted out a comment regarding his self isolation.
"I have some personal news to share today. Sophie recently returned from a speaking event in the UK, and last night she was experiencing mild flu-like symptoms... Out of an abundance of caution, I too will be self-isolating & self monitoring until we get Sophie's results back. But I'll be busy working from home," said Trudeau.
Out of an abundance of caution, I too will be self-isolating & self-monitoring until we get Sophie‘s results back. But I‘ll be busy working from home. Today, I‘ll be speaking with some world leaders and joining ministers for a Cabinet committee discussion on COVID-19.

The coronavirus has caused panic across the globe, as governments attempt to minimize the damage that could be done. On Wednesday, federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu announced what experts have been saying: that the coronavirus has the potential to infect up to 70 percent of the population.
“It is irresponsible to give you a number, because we don’t know. The science is not clear, because there are a range of numbers that have happened in various countries,” she said. “I would say it is safe to assume that it could be between 30 per cent of the population—that acquire COVID-19—and 70 percent," said Hajdu on Tuesday.
The Trudeau's aren't the only politicians feeling under the weather. New Democrat Leader Jagmeet Singh also tweeted that he was "feeling unwell."
Friends, I am at home today, feeling unwell.

I have been in contact with a doctor and they do not believe I have symptoms consistent with COVID19. But their advice is for me to limit contact with the public until I am feeling better.
