Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held an event in Cobourg, Ontario, that seemed to have violated the province's outdoor gathering guidelines.

The province is currently in the third step of the Ford government's reopening plan, which allows just 100 people at outdoor events. According to Global News, "several hundred" arrived at the event.

According to True North, the Liberal Party did not respond to a request for comment. The local health authority did confirm, however, that the 100-person limit for events outdoors remained active.

The event saw supporters as well as hecklers, with the riding being won by the Conservatives in 2019 by just over 2,000 votes.

The last time the Liberals won the riding was in the 2015 federal election, when Kim Rudd defeated Adam Moulton by just under 2,000 votes.

The NDP failed to crack 10,000 votes in the riding in both of the aforementioned years.
