As Ontario goes into lockdown, Quebec remains shut down, cases climb, and inflation continues to soar, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has decided to take a day off from work.
According to the prime minister's official itinerary, Justin Trudeau has chosen to take a "personal day" in Gatineau, Quebec. Gatineau is just over the provincial border from Ottawa, Ontario.
Justin Trudeau has a long history of taking personal days that have often gotten the prime minister in heaps of trouble.
In September of 2021, for instance, Trudeau was found surfing in British Columbia when he was supposed to be attending an events for the first ever day of truth and reconciliation.
According to Mercedes Stephenson and Rachel Gilmore of Global News, a spokesperson at the Prime Minister's Office confirmed that the Trudeaus flew to Tofino "for a few days off."
"Yes the PM is spending time in Tofino with family for a few days," Trudeau’s spokesperson wrote.
On top of this, during the WE scandal that rocked the government n 2020, Trudeau took six personal days in a row. The former Conservative leader Andrew Scheer roasted Trudeau for this, saying that if Trudeau was an ordinary Canadian, he would be fired by now.
