President Donald Trump suggested in a tweet on Thursday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) covered up the investigation of Hunter Biden so that Joe Biden could win the election, Epoch Times reports.
Trump tweeted once again on Friday, suggesting that his Attorney General William Barr may have known about the alleged coverup and hid the information.
The tweet storm comes after it was revealed earlier this week that Hunter Biden, the scandal-plagued son of presumptive President-Elect Joe Biden, has been under investigation for two years in connection to his taxes and business activities in China.
The embattled son of Joe Biden revealed the investigation in a press release, although he maintained that he is not guilty of any wrongdoing. The Biden-Harris transition team also released a brief statement on the matter, stating that Joe Biden is "proud" of his son.
Hunter Biden's controversial business dealings in China, initially reported on in October by the New York Post, was widely suppressed by big tech giants, especially Facebook and Twitter. Many members of the news media disregarded the story as "Russian disinformation." Nevertheless, the accusations turned out to be credible enough to warrant an investigation by the Delaware District Attorney's office, and some Republicans are calling for the establishment of a special counsel to investigate the matter.
Joe Biden's brother, James Biden, was revealed on Thursday to also be under investigation.
