Trump reverses plan to plead 5th after 7-hour deposition from far-left NY AG Letitia James

While Trump plead the fifth hundreds of times during his first deposition, this time around he was "eager to testify" and ended up doing so for seven hours.

On Thursday, Donald Trump arrived in Manhattan for a deposition with New York Attorney General Letitia James. The AG alleged in her lawsuit against the former president that he and three of his children engaged in fraudulent business practices.

While Trump plead the fifth hundreds of times during his first deposition, this time around he was "eager to testify" and ended up doing so for seven hours.

According to the Daily Mail, Trump's lawyer Christopher Kise said that during his hours-long deposition, the former president boasted about the success of his businesses.

Kise parroted his clients sentiments saying, "The transactions at the center of this case were wildly profitable for the banks and for the Trump entities," and that "when the facts of this success, and not politically engineered soundbites, are out in the open, everyone will scoff at the notion any fraud took place."

Fellow attorney Alina Habba stated that Trump "remains resolute in his stance that he has nothing to conceal," adding that he "looks forward to educating the Attorney General about the immense success of his multi-billion dollar company."

In her lawsuit, James alleged that Trump, alongside Don Jr, Eric, and Ivanka, misrepresented their net worth and value of their properties, including Mar-a-Lago, over a period of decades.

Trump's children were deposed last year, and while Don Jr and Ivanka answered questions, Eric followed in his father's footsteps at the time and plead the fifth.

The former president slammed James as a "racist" prior to his deposition Thursday morning, accusing her of having "leaked" information about when he was set to arrive in Manhattan.

"The leak makes it much more difficult for the Police and Secret Service to do their job," he said. "This civil case is ridiculous, just like all of the other Election Interference cases being brought against me. If I had a fair judge, this case would have never happened. MAGA!"

The case brought by James is unrelated to that filed by Manhattan AG Alvin Bragg, which Trump is also currently fighting.
