Tucker Carlson slams CNN after Project Veritas releases editorial phone call recordings

Tucker Carlson slammed CNN for immediately invoking race to smokescreen their left-wing bias after Project Veritas exposed the news outlet's editorial phone calls.

In one recording released by Project Veritas on Tuesday night, Global Programming for CNN Digital Worldwide vice president Marcus Mabry reportedly stated: "I think it's unavoidable that you have to talk about the naked racism of Tucker Carlson, because that's really what drove this anti-diversity push."

"Trump watches Tucker Carlson's show and then reacts. And just as sort of the white supremacy hour they have on Fox News every night, I think it's the—you can't disconnect the two," Mabry allegedly declared on-tape, referring to the most-watched conservative television host in the country.

Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe blasted CNN in a press release: "This is yet another investigation Project Veritas has conducted into CNN, and once again they've demonstrated their partisan political agenda and total disconnect with journalistic ethics."

On the same night, Project Veritas allegedly outed CNN for their own words, the publication attempted to negate the accusation that the newsroom is comprised of coordinated propagandists. First from a legal standpoint, CNN Communications argued that "[l]egal experts say this may be a felony," adding that the company has "referred it to law enforcement."

This despite the fact that CNN published its own phone call expose on Oct. 2. The hit piece featured "secretly recorded tapes" of First Lady Melania Trump in the summer of 2018. Those secret recordings were also played exclusively on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360.

CNN Communications then claimed on Twitter that the voice identified as Mabry is actually CNN general counsel David Vigilante. "We’re certain you’ll want to correct the record and apologize to the Black executive for assuming he was the voice raising concerns over white supremacy," the account tweeted.

Tucker Carlson's public relations team fired back at CNN's race-baiting defense: "We never ID'd any voice or aired audio recordings of CNN executives. Check out tonight's segment which is of Marcus Mabry on camera. Facts First, right?"

Then he linked Tuesday night's opener of Tucker Carlson Tonight. In a segment on how "the ruling class pull[s] up the ladder as they always do," Carlson questioned why the upper echelon that lectures on diversity also happens to "come from exactly the same elite background." He clarified: "So what they're advocating for is people just like themselves."

Carlson then highlighted Mabry's own elitist history. "He's now one of CNN's most energetic diversity enforcers, but here's the interesting part: Mabry himself went to high school at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. He got two degrees from Stanford."

"Then he spent decades at Newsweek, The New York Times, and Twitter. So naturally, he claims to be highly concerned about inclusion. Here he is in 2016 lecturing his then-employer about it," Carlson tossed.

In a video clip shown on-screen, Mabry asserted: "There is a lot of work to do at Twitter and throughout tech, and that's one of the reasons I came to Twitter, which is, I think it's so important that we're at the table. It was true of The New York Times, too. But we have to make more of us. We have to create more of us and not just African-American, but also Latino and Hispanics who are very much also underrepresented in technology and at Twitter."

"I'm convinced our current leadership is committed to improving that diversity, but there's a lot of work to do," he publicly declared.

Carlson lambasted Mabry for his hypocrisy, a talking head "on the board of one of the most expensive boarding schools in the world" whose persona is "fighting the man."

"Of course he is. It's working for him and all his friends. It's just not working for you, and it's not intended to. You are excluded from their inclusion. But you knew that," Carlson concluded.
