Update: Shortly after 9pm on Friday, Twitter restored Portnoy’s account.
The powers that be have decided to suspend Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports from Twitter. According to the staff members at the social media giant, this is either the classical “mistake,” or for whatever reason the safety team decided Dave Portnoy violated the site rules.
All we know is that Portnoy is a passionate man who liked to talk about stocks and spoke freely.
Dave Portnoy was speaking like anybody born in Swampscott, Massachusetts would. He was trying to push a deal. “So sell it. Mark your calendar. Dm me 1 year from today. Let me drop my nuts on your head,” Portnoy said.
For the nuts comment Portnoy was suspended.
Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports recently gained a “man of the people” reputation for his fund helping out small businesses. A New York pizza shop owner teared up as the philanthropist offered to help pay the rent.
It’s hard making ends meet in the pandemic, after all. Portnoy’s generosity even extended to NBA legend Charles Barkley. Dave offered him a gig as he left his spot at Inside the NBA.
