The poll received more than 3.1 million votes. Musk said that the amnesty would begin next week.
Shortly after the poll was tweeted, "#BringThemBack" started trending on the platform.
In a similar fashion, Musk asked users whether former President Donald Trump should be reinstated. That poll's results were much closer, with 51.8 percent voting "Yes" to 48.2 percent who voted "No". Trump was reinstated the next day.
"Vox Populi, Vox Dei," Musk tweeted, which in Latin means "the voice of the people is the voice of God."
A number of accounts suspended over the last decade have still yet to be reinstated, including those of people who were banned for allegedly spreading "fake news" about COVID-19, such as MyPillow's Mike Lindell, Dr. Robert Malone, Dr. Peter McCollough, author Naomi Wolf, and artist Nicki Minaj.
Also notably, Alex Jones and his Infowars pages have yet to be reinstated, but Musk has already stated that he was not in favor of doing so.
