What does the CBP think after both President Biden and Vice President Harris publicly condemned their agency amidst social media outrage?
They aren’t happy about it. The comments came in the wake of photographer Paul Ratje who documented the incident in question debunking claims of CBP agents whipping migrants.
The "temperature of the room" when it came to the disposition of Border Agents was outlined to those who spoke to Fox News.
The outlet describes their pushback.
One agent told Fox News: "Would you go to work and do your best knowing that if you do your boss is going to ‘make you pay’? I'm dumbfounded and don't know what to say."
"Is the president threatening to throw us in prison?" one asked.
"I see the administration wants to fry our agents. He just started a war with Border Patrol," remarked another CBP staffer.
Julio Rosas of Town Hall had another insider’s voice to add in response to Biden’s reaction.
"How can President Biden continue with this false narrative when the photographer who took the photos of the horse patrol unit has already said nobody was whipped? What happened to due process?"
Brandon Judd of the National Border Patrol Council had a lot to say on this week’s incident to Fox News.
"Now that the president of the United States has already said they did wrong, how is an investigator supposed to do a true and honest investigation? Because if that investigator finds they did nothing wrong -- and they didn’t do anything wrong -- but if that investigator finds they didn’t do anything wrong, how is that investigator’s job going to go?"
Judd also reiterated that "nobody was struck by a rein" whatsoever.
Today, a video from an Associated Press reporter was posted on social media which they claim is added evidence for the horse rein moment in question.
Despite presentation of evidence to the contrary, the Biden administration earlier this week banned the usage of horses by agents on the US - Mexico border in light of the "whipping" debacle.
It was at the beginning of the week that the USA saw an influx of Haitian migrants show up at Del Rio, Texas. The Biden administration’s response to the episode was put under significant scrutiny as it accented the President’s handling of general immigration policy so far.
