The US embassy to the Holy See has chosen to fly the pride flag for the month of June.

The United States Sate Department announced on Twitter that they will be flying the pride flag at their embassy to the Holy See in Rome. The embassy serves as America's point of contact with the Catholic church in the Vatican.

Many in the mainstream media have praised Biden as a "devout Catholic" during his presidential campaign and has smeared other Catholics as "right-wing" for following Catholic teachings. The Catholic church considers abortion a reserved sin and can only be absolved by a Bishop.

Pope Francis, the most liberal Pope in recent memory has been very open to LGBTQ individuals in the church, but says the Catholic church cannot bless same sex marriage because "God can't bless sin." The State Department has authorized the flying of activist flags like the Black Lives Matter flag, an organization that has declared solidarity with Hamas-led Palestine.

Other Republicans on Twitter have asked with the State Department isn't flying the Pride Flag in Muslim majority countries like Iran or Indonesia where homosexuality is still illegal and punishable by death. Some called the move cowardice saying it is "deliberate antagonism aimed at a group they know will not, unlike other groups, fight back."

The Catholic church is also under siege in Canada after the discovery of 215 sets of remains at the Kamloops Indian Residential School that was run by the Catholic church from 1890 to 1969.
