Vancouver crash results in death of a baby, injured father

An update is expected from Vancouver police about a deadly Tuesday night crash that resulted in the death of a baby and an injured father.

An update is expected from Vancouver police about a deadly Tuesday night crash that resulted in the death of a baby and an injured father.

The two vehicle crash happened Hornby and Smithe streets before 7 pm, and resulted in two pedestrians being struck, CTV News Vancouver reports.

The 11-month-old baby sadly died, while the father was sent to hospital. The extent of his injuries are not known at this time.

The collision included a midsize SUV, and a black Maclaren. Both were severely damaged, with the supercar's front end being completely crushed and the SUV ending up on the sidewalk.

A man who was believed to be the suspect was handcuffed on the scene. He also was taken to hospital, and his injuries are unknown.

Vancouver Police is asking anyone who witnessed to accident to come forward.
