Walmart Canada has announced that it will be hiring 10,000 new workers for its stores as it continues to deal with the novel coronavirus, according to CTV News.

The announcement was made in a letter by Horacio Barbeito, the CEO of Walmart Canada. The letter was sent to customers though it did not provide much further information on the subject.

The letter also says that Walmart will be accelerating annual bonus payments for store associates as well as providing online physician care to its 90,000 plus employees.

As the company experiences high demand for its pick up and delivery service Walmart will now be leaving home deliveries at customer’s doors to reduce contact.

The company also said that it will stay open though exclusive senior shopping hours will be implemented. People who are disabled or have vulnerable health conditions will be able to shop during these hours as well.

Shoppers will only be able to buy a certain number of items to ensure that products are widely available to customers.
