The Washington State Department of Commerce (WADOC) hand-selected non-profits to aid in COVID-19 relief through federal funding, selecting only those with radical political agendas. Washington State’s Equity Relief Fund awarded nearly $12 million to 358 non-profits statewide.
In a news release, the WADOC stated they teamed up with Philanthropy Northwest to provide $11.85 million in grants from the Washington Equity Relief Fund for Nonprofits. The organizations they selected are all led by Black Indigenous People of Color and only serve BIPOC communities.
"It is imperative that we step up to support these trusted and much-needed organizations operated by and serving BIPOC communities. It is equally important that these communities lead the decision-making on how to prioritize these funds," said Commerce Director Lisa Brown.
Nearly 1,000 non-profits applied for grants and the relief fund only awarded 358 non-profits, leaving 642 organizations without aid.
The Department of Commerce chose BIPOC communities to allocate funds to after a recent study released by the Washington State Department of Health showed communities of color in Washington State experience stronger economic impacts as well as higher levels of COVID-19 cases.
"We had 104 community reviewers committed to making careful, tough decisions. The majority of these reviewers are from Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, many with their own life experience and understanding of living in poverty and/or in rural areas. On behalf of these community reviewers and in partnership with the Department of Commerce, we are honored to award this money to 358 BIPOC non-profit organizations throughout Washington," said Anjana Pandey, Executive Vice President at Philanthropy Northwest.
No white-led non-profit organizations were selected to receive federal funds through the Washington Equity Relief Fund.
Among those selected to receive federal funds is a radical non-profit organization called Collective Justice NW, which is currently seeking support to help back a Democrat sponsored bill to stop criminalizing youth.
Another woke non-profit the Relief Fund selected is The Bail Project Spokane, a national-affiliated organization that opposes cash bail. The Bail Project has used funds to bail out high-profile criminal offenders.
The Council on Islamic American Relations of Washington (CAIR) also received funds. CAIR is a well-known anti-Semitic organization that has made national headlines for frequent anti-Semitic comments as well as the organizations ties to terrorist organizations like Hamas.
According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Hamas is viewed as a foreign terrorist organization in both the United States and the European Union. Hamas seeks the total elimination of the Jewish State of Israel and has targeted civilians with suicide bombings.
Back in December, Washington State Dem ocrat Governor Jay Inslee unveiled plans to address 'systemic racism' by funding far-left organizations.
