On Saturday's episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, NFL Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said that the NFL would send a "stooge" to teams and coerce players into getting the Covid vaccine.
Rodgers said that the league wanted to "virtue signal" to the world that they had "95 percent compliance" when it came to Covid vaccination and for anyone non-compliant, they "were gonna send a stooge to your team to show you graphs of your vaccination percentage of your team compared to the league."
Rodgers explained to Rogan that this actually happened prompting the host to ask, "what happened?"
"I mopped the floor with him," Rodgers said.
In the 2021 NFL season, the league did not mandate players get vaccinated but created strict rules.
"If you had an outbreak caused by a non vaccinated player, you not only forfeit that game, if you had enough players out, but you wouldn't get paid for that week," Rodgers explained.
According to NFL.com, the forfeiture rule was deliberately designed to "pressure players to get vaccinated."
During the 2021 season Rodgers claimed that he had been "immunized" against Covid without specifying the methodology. In November of 2021, he tested positive for Covid and revealed he was not vaccinated. Subsequently, he became more vocal that young, healthy people with no comorbidities are better off developing natural immunity to the virus instead of getting vaccinated.
In December of 2021, Rodgers appeared on the "The Pat McAfee Show," and said "If science can't be questioned, it's propaganda."
Talking to Rogan, Rodgers explained that when he brought up legal liability to the "stooge," the person claimed they were not a lawyer and did not want to "talk about anybody's personal health issues."
Rodgers himself is allergic to some of the ingredients in the mRNA vaccine, one of the reasons he opted out. Further, he explained how the league continued to take out exemptions, including religious and PEG exemptions.
PEG or polyethylene glycol is another ingredient in the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines that some have proven allergic to.
Rodgers explained the consequences imposed by refusing the vaccine and said, "it's not only gonna affect your day to day status on the team, but your ability to get a job, the ability to keep a job, your ability to get a tryout if you get cut from this team."
In the discussion on the Covid vaccine, Rogan also said, "Jen Psaki said these vaccines are approved by the FDA, which is the gold standard. That was a lie. They weren't approved. It was not true. They had an emergency use authorization. They weren't approved. But she was a propagandist."
Rogan did note that the White House secretary job is "weird" but that Kayleigh McEnany was "the best ever at that job. She's the f*cking Michael Jordan of White House press secretaries. She's a f*cking wizard."
