The National Rifle Association (NRA) Convention, which returned this year following a hiatus during the COVID pandemic, was met with anti-gun activists swarming the convention's Houston, Texas location on Friday in response to massacre at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday.

Drew Hernandez of Frontlines and Turning Point USA captured the scene outside Houston's George R. Brown convention hall, which was filled with posters, expletives, and activist anger.

"Piece of sh*t, piece of sh*t, piece of sh*t" yelled a protester. "F*ck your guns, f*ck your guns, murderers! Blood on your hands!" shrieked another. "Are you proud of yourself?" yet another screamed.

Hernandez asks an Antifa member if the USA should just ban all guns from now on. "Yeah, honestly yeah," the activist responds calmly.

Another Antifa activist was stationed outside the NRA Convention Hall entrance, and heckled convention-goers as they went inside.

"You’re a black cop protecting him? Him!" yells a female activist in a "Beto for Senate" t-shirt. "F*cking disgusting! You f*cking pig!" Hernandez pivoted the camera to show that, in fact, there were two black police officers standing guard outside the NRA’s exhibition hall.

Mr. Hernandez attempted to ask Beto O’Rourke how he felt "exploiting dead kids," but the Texas gubernatorial candidate had no further comment. O’Rourke addressed the crowd at the anti-NRA protest in Houston on Friday afternoon, telling them he has since met with the parents of a child who died in Tuesday’s massacre.

It was on Wednesday morning that Beto O’Rourke interrupted a press conference held by Governor Greg Abbott and others discussing the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Local residents were angered and labeled the move as "disrespectful."

While Abbott was originally slated to appear in-person at the NRA’s annual convention this weekend, the Texas Governor cancelled to visit Uvalde. He prerecorded a video message in which he argued that stricter gun laws haven’t historically stopped evil people from carrying out heinous crimes.

Students across the country coordinated a public walkout on Thursday morning, demanding stricter gun laws. But the soonest Congress is expected to vote on any such measures is after their return from Memorial Day recess, on June 6th.
