A Twitter scuffle broke out between Candace Owens and Cardi B over the weekend, resulting in a back and forth about which presidential candidate has pandered to the other black female more.
The dispute was ignited by a segment featuring Candace Owens on Ben Shapiro's Sunday Special show, where she said that Cardi B's music and platform has contributed to the disintegration of black culture, drawing attention to the vacuity of rap music.
Since most black people didn’t have the spine to admit that @benshapiro was 100% correct about @iamcardib and how her music and platform contributes to the disintegration of black culture and values...here you go. #WAP #SundaySpecial pic.twitter.com/q5QxxX9G4e

Owens addressed the fact that former Vice President Joe Biden has been hiding in his basement for most of the year, avoiding interviews and appearances, but somehow thought it was a good idea to have an interview with Cardi B.
Owens chalked this appearance up to the presidential candidate pandering to the black community, suggesting that Biden's team knows Cardi B is popular among the black community and that an interview with him would be good optics. Owens likened Biden interviewing Cardi B to President Donald Trump interviewing Justin Bieber.
Owens proceeded to take aim at Cardi B's ignorant proposition that the ideal president should lower taxes while simultaneously making healthcare free for everyone. Owens reduced Cardi B to being illiterate, adding that Biden should have had a black intellectual interview him instead of a musician.
Cardi B promptly took to Twitter to respond to the video Owens shared of the sit down with Shapiro, tweeting: "You wanna know why joe gotta talk to me Candice cause I have the #1 song & yet my sister can’t go to the beach in the Hampton’s wit out trump supporters harassing cause they were by themselves & Santa Claus was harassing my sis GF all because they are a Afro/Hispanic gay couple"

Not only did Cardi B not sufficiently respond to Owens's charges, she went after Trump supporters because her sister apparently could not get any peace and quiet in the Hamptons.
Owens reiterated what Cardi B tweeted, saying: "To clarify—Joe Biden “gotta talk” to you because you have the number 1 song and Santa Claus was harassing your sister? Um. K. Thanks for clearing that one up."

Cardi B shot back by confirming that she had the "number 1 song" and that she didn't want to argue with Candace, adding that "I honestly just feel sorry for you."
Yes you are right I have the number 1 song & I have a huge platform and I can make millions go vote to get the MAN THAT USED YOU .I don’t want to argue with you Candace I really don’t have the time .I honestly just feel sorry for you. https://t.co/haACwKRN13

Owens, unable to let this slide, responded once more, tweeting: "You are encouraging MILLIONS to go vote for the man that locked up entire generations of black men. Maybe go google: JOE BIDEN AND 1994 CRIME BILL. Joe Biden used you. Bernie Sanders used you. Neither one of them like or know your music. They think you’re dumb. #Trump2020"

The 1994 crime bill Owens referred to is widely considered to be the engine that contributed to the mass incarceration of black people as crime sky-rocketed through the 80's.
Cardi B charged Owens with advocating for a presidential candidate who "laugh Everytime a black men gets killed by a cop and tell millions of Americans to drink bleach."

The online bickering only continued as Owens backed out of the tweet thread to say: "I’m almost 6 months pregnant and had to rip @iamcardib a new WAP. Watch here: https://instagram.com/tv/CE0Rtn4FqE7/?igshid=qa3f1mrr4a9h… Goodnight fam. #TRUMP2020 all day, every day."

Owens finished Cardi B off by accusing the musician of attacking an unborn child, adding "how very DEMOCRAT of you." Owens went on to say that over 18 million black babies have been sent to the "slaughter" since 1973, noting that Cardi B's political party makes it unsafe for black babies from the time they are in their mother's womb.

How very DEMOCRAT of you.
While I have you—did you know your party has supported the slaughter of over 18 million black babies since 1973? Did you know the most unsafe place for a black child is in its mother’s womb because of YOUR party? https://t.co/hEJ8HR0ZRg
