Toronto police saw over 300 drivers come together on Sunday near a west-end intersection to celebrate Victoria Day—many of them shooting off fireworks from their cars and doing donuts, according to BlogTO.

Footage of the illegal gathering was shared to popular Instagram accounts such as 6ixcanada.tv and 6ixbuzzTV.

In one video a blue Mustang can be seen doing several donuts and burnouts around the intersection while fireworks shoot from the car and many spectators watch in a circle.

Police have confirmed that the incident was in Etobicoke at the intersection of Dixon Road and Carlingview Drive. They responded to the situation shortly after midnight finding hundreds of vehicles.

"Reports that people were out of their vehicles watching other vehicles doing donuts," wrote Toronto Police Operations on Twitter, "Police are on scene investigating."

More videos taken of the event show that there were massive crowds involved.

Toronto Police figures show that from March 23 to April 27 there has been a 600 percent increase in stunt driving incidents when compared to the same time period last year. There were 32 in 2019 and 222 in 2020.

These types of incidents are not uncommon in Toronto’s west end.

A gathering of more than 200 vehicles was broken up by Toronto Police last weekend close to Queensway and East Mall. An officer said that the meet-up looked like something out of a "Fast & Furious" movie.

Drivers at the scene were reportedly participating in driving that could fall under "dangerous operation of a motor vehicle," which can involve up to $10,000 in fines and 10 years of jail time.

No arrests were made by Police who said that the drivers were "part of a known stunt-driving group in the city."

There is an ongoing investigation into Sunday’s incident.
