A guest on CNN stated that Dr. Anthony Fauci should be questioned and that it is unhealthy to venerate a powerful public official.
Mary Katherine Ham, a contributing editor for Townhall Magazine and a senior writer at The Federalist, recanted the beliefs of millions of liberals when asked the purpose of attacking Dr. Fauci. "Fauci is a very powerful public official who deserves and rarely gets tough questioning in almost any realm," said Ham: "He gets frankly, a lot of fangirling, and a lot of... forum for his ideas, and he doesn't get a lot of pushback."
She added that "tough questions for Dr. Fauci are not attacks on science itself. This is something we should talk about further. Fauci has something to do with the numbers on his own level of trustworthiness."
She then went to defend Senator Rand Paul, who asked Fauci a series of tough questions during a committee hearing on July 20th. Both corporate media and the American left attacked Senator Paul when he questioned Fauci on Tuesday. "Senator Paul understood the assignment here. He's asking about a tough subject that admittedly, none of us are experts on."
Dr. Fauci's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in the US has been heavily scrutinized. He has been accused of misleading the public, according to Ham. "He has [misled the public] at least twice, and I will be gentle in saying at least shaded the truth about his COVID pronouncements based on his own judgment on what the public can handle."
She cited his flip-flop on masks as the first instance. Ham noted the other instance was when he "admitted saying that when it came to herd immunity, he looked at polling to base his statements on how much herd immunity would be the threshold."
