Two days ago, a black father and daughter went viral on TikTok for speaking out against critical race theory.
"How we treat people is based on who they are and not what color they are," the father said. His daughter added: "And if they're nice and smart."
In an interview on "The Rubin Report," both Kory Yeshua and his daughter Royalty doubled-down on their initial message that went viral. The two of them don't care about critical race theory at all and just want to be nice to people.
"We should not look at each other, and base our relationships with each other off of things as superficial as skin color or race. I think that you love everybody, no matter what they look like, you know. It's who they are on the inside, it's their character, that matters."
Kory Yeshua proudly wore a sweatshirt with "AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE" displayed on it, while his daughter enjoyed a blue lollipop. He's a content creator full-time and he was repping his clothing line he runs with his cousin.
"We're just trying to wake people up," Yeshua said to host Dave Rubin.
The father said he had no clue that his TikTok video would gain traction.
"I had no clue, man. It was crazy like I posted it, and then, two weeks went by, and then other people started posting it. And, all of a sudden, you know, it just blew up, and I'm just so grateful and thankful that people shared it. You know I’m appreciative."
We learned that the daughter is in first grade. She agreed with Rubin's remark that her dad is a pretty good teacher.
Rubin asked when Yeshua first became more aware of today's modern political situation. He responds by explaining that it had been a while since parents would routinely pass along videos and curriculums related to CTR.
He explains that his own daughter had been taught about segregation at her school. Kory took the matter to the principal, and their response was that the teacher "didn't run it by" the principal, beforehand.
Yeshua told Rubin that at least one family member he hadn't spoken to in a couple years actually called him. They were annoyed that Yeshua was publicly outspoken against CTR, "systemic racism," and Black Lives Matter in general.
