DeSantis tweeted about the festival, saying that it was "the largest music festival since the pandemic began." It was the first big outdoor music festival since the beginning of the pandemic.
Once on stage, DeSantis slammed Fauci, lockdowns, and said that Florida's approach to the pandemic was the one that wins.

DeSantis said that his "message for other states and other countries" is "Open your schools, let people live their lives, don't make them wear masks!" The crowd went wild.
"We will see you on Labor Day weekend, when y'all will do it again," he told the crowd.
DeSantis has been a critic of lockdowns, masking, and closures, and has evidenced that in Florida, which has largely stayed open. He has said that he would sue the CDC over lockdowns.
DeSantis has also opposed critical race theory in schools, and opposed biological males competing who identify as transgender from competing in women's sports.
