Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy pressed White House Press Secretary Jen Pskai over the director of the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) "Disinformation Governance Board," who had herself spread disinformation when she said that the Hunter Biden laptop story of 2021 was Russian disinformation.
Doocy asked, "Just in terms of what the president wants out of this, does he want the people on the [Disinformation Governance Board] to start censoring information that is not helpful to him?"
"Let me be clear on exactly what this board does... In their announcement which is publicly available on the DHS website for anyone to read it says 'the primary mission is to establish best practices to ensure that efforts to understand and respond to disinformation are done in a way that protests privacy, civil rights and civil liberties, and the right to free speech.'" she said.
Doocy pressed Psaki, saying, "Nina Jankowikz, who is going to be in charge of the board, she said that she the thinks the Hunter Biden laptop is Russian disinformation, so should we look forward in the future to her censoring internet traffic about the Hunter Biden Laptop?"
Psaki responded that she has already laid out what the "objective of the board is."
"The woman you noted has extensive experience and has done extensive work addressing disinformation. She has testified before congress, testified in Europe. She has done work closely with Ukrainians and has unique expertise especially at this moment we're facing," she said.
Jankowicz has been revealed to have spread disinformation on a number of topics.
In screenshots of old tweets posted to Twitter, she was seen dismissing the Hunter Biden laptop as Russian misinformation, slamming free speech, and bashed Twitter’s decision to stop taking action against 2020 election posts.
Jankowicz has on numerous occasions discredited the Hunter Biden laptop story, saying it's a "fairy tale" and disinformation.
