A new video has surfaced of deceased Cuban dictator Fidel Castro receiving a standing ovation at a church in New York where Raphael Warnock, one of the Democratic candidates seeking a Senate seat in Georgia's runoff election, used to be a pastor.

When the video was taken in 1995, Warnock was the youth pastor at the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem. It is unclear whether Warnock was present at the event or if he was involved in bringing Castro to his church.

Warnock left the church and now serves as the pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Georgia, the same church where the famed civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. used to be a pastor.

Warnock has been heavily criticized by Republicans seeking to portray him as a radical. Warnock has supported eliminating cash bail, refused to give a straight answer on whether he would be willing to pack the US Supreme Court with liberal judges, and once said that individuals cannot both serve God and the US military. In a book published in 2013, Warnock expressed support for Marxism while disparaging the "white capitalistic forces" driving America.

Democrats have largely dismissed claims that Warnock is a radical and have accused Republicans of racism for suggesting otherwise.

Both of Georgia's senate seats are considered up for grabs, with voters heading to the polls on Jan. 5. If Democrats pick up both senate seats in Georgia, it would secure them a razor-thin majority in the Senate, and with it, control of all three branches of government.
