A gang of dirt bikers was caught on video beating up an elderly driver and his son in Harlem. On Tuesday evening, a 64-year-old man and his son were driving through Harlem when they allegedly struck a dirt biker who was running a red light at the intersection of West 127th and Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

The driver continued making his way down West 127th, and was stopped two blocks later, where he and his son were surrounded and attacked by a gang of dirt bikers. Gangs of dirt bikers have been riding through the city in large numbers over the past few years.

The elderly man and his son were forcibly removed from their vehicle and beaten by the gang, according to the New York Post.

After subduing their victims, the gang allegedly made off with a cell phone, credit cards, debit cards, drivers licenses, and $150 in cash.

Security footage released by the NYPD shows at least three men on dirt bikes and one on an ATV fleeing the scene with their loot.

Both victims were taken to St. Luke's Hospital with minor injuries, the Post reports.

The suspects are still on the run, and if found, risk punishment for more than just the attack. Dirt bikes are illegal in New York City, and as of late, officials have been cracking down on their use with seizures and minimum $500 fines.

Former mayor Bill de Blasio sent a clear message to dirt bikers across the city last year, warning that if they are seen riding their bike, "the NYPD will find it and will crush it."

In 2021, the city seized and crushed around 3,000 bikes.
