"In 2024, it will be Susan Rice versus Tucker Carlson," Gutfeld said.
The Gutfeld! host made the comments while appearing on Fox News' The Five alongside other Fox News personalities such as Judge Jeanine Pirro, Martha MacCallum, and Harold Ford, Jr.
The panel was discussing President Biden's expected bid for the 2024 presidential election, and debating whether or not Biden seeking re-election would benefit the country as the most recent polls showed that more than 70 percent of Americans do not wish for him to be re-elected.
The panelists then brought up Democrat Susan Rice, President Biden's White House domestic policy adviser, who announced that she would be departing from her post on Monday, which had the Fox News personalities predicting that she would be a contender in the 2024 presidential election.
Gutfeld chimed in and said, "In 2024, it will be Susan Rice versus Tucker Carlson," a joke that caused the panel to erupt in laughter.
Fox News issued a statement on Monday that they were parting ways with Tucker Carlson, host of Tucker Carlson Tonight, the most-watched cable news show in the world. The announcement came as a shock to many.
Support for Tucker erupted across social media, with his supporters canceling their subscriptions to Fox Nation and vowing to never watch Fox News again. Tucker's producer, Justin Wells, also exited from the network following the news of the termination of the primetime commentator.
