Ultra-successful podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan mused on a recent podcast of his about how the so-named Overton window has shifted greatly in his lifetime, and how being conservative means something completely different now than it did in the past.
"Who would have thought that in 2022 conservatives would be the people championing free speech and comedy? Joe Rogan gives props to @FoxNews and conservatives for having his back through the many Corporate Media cancellation attempts," reads the tweet by Mythinformed MKE.
"Who would have thought that, if you look back on the early days, what we used to think of as conservative vs. liberal," Rogan started in.
"Liberal was pro-free speech, people were open-minded, non violent, and people were open to other people's ideas."
"And the right was like, suppressive, nanny-state, condemned certain language, condemned certain behaviors. That's not the case today."
Rogan then mentioned his fellow comedian Dave Chappelle, who has also been targeted by the mainstream media recently:
"Today, the left has gone so f*ckin' far left, so radical, that the right are the ones that are celebrating comedians, celebrating Chappelle."
"They had my back through all the crazy shit that happened with me. It was Fox News that f*ckin' had my back."
When asked if he ever thought that Fox News would be publicly defending him ten years ago, Rogan responded with:
"I'm so liberal. Like, I talk about it all the time. I say, 'I am not a conservative; I'm not conservative."
"But, I am pro-Second Amendment, and I am a hunter. And I am a cage-fighting commentator, and I drink and I smoke cigars, and I like to bow-hunt. So there's a lot in there, that's like 'hey.'"
"But, I'm just a human. I'm a compassionate person," Rogan concluded.
