The Conservative Transport Critic Melissa Lantsman attacked the prime minister in the House of Commons on Thursday over the Liberal's trade record.

Newcomer MP Lantsman castigated Trudeau for his failure to protect the Canadian economy from US protectionism.

"A little bit concerned," said Lantsman. "These are the words of the prime minister when he was asked about President Biden's proposed tax rebate for electric cars that excludes the ones made here right in Canada."

Lantsman went on to ridicule Trudeau for his comments.

Lantsman said that Trudeau was "a little bit concerned about the tens of thousands of Canadian jobs in jeopardy. A little bit concerned about our second largest export."

"What is it gonna take for this prime minister to show a lot of concern?"

Trudeau recently met with Biden in Washington DC. Just six days after Biden hosted Trudeau, the US decided to raise tariffs on Canadian lumber.

The US will raise tariffs on Canadian lumber from 9 to 17.9 percent. This will affect already the already struggling lumber industry in British Colombia and New Brunswick.

Despite these severe tariffs, the prime minister said that his trip had reaffirmed "their commitment to advance the Canada-US relationship."
