Republican Senator Marco Rubio spoke to Maria Bartiromo on FOX News on Sunday to condemn the Capitol Hill rioters, insisting that they do not represent the Republican Party.

"It's disgusting, it's unpatriotic, it runs counter to everything we stand for," Rubio said. "The overwhelming majority of people who voted for Donald Trump would agree."

Rubio then turned his attention to big tech giants, who he believes are abusing their power to silence conservatives in the wake of the Capitol Hill riot.

"The left has decided this is an opportunity to destroy the right, so if you ever voted for Donald Trump, if you ever supported anything he did, you are just as guilty as the people who went into that Capitol," Rubio insisted.

"This is also an opportunity for them to now go and put pressure on social media companies to literally not just erase the President, erase everybody," Rubio continued. "We're now living in a country where four or five companies, unelected, unaccountable, have the power, the monopoly power to decide 'we're gonna wipe people out.'"

Many big tech giants have faced criticism from conservatives since the Capitol Hill riot, as platforms such as Twitter and Facebook taking action to remove large numbers of conservative users beginning with President Trump.

Google, Apple, and Amazon have also faced criticism for collectively working to destroy the website Parler, which first had its app removed by Google and Apple from their respective application stores, while Amazon later followed by kicking the website off their web hosting service.

Parler was designed to be a pro-free speech alternative to Twitter.

"Even if you don't like Donald Trump, that should be concerning that they have that power," Rubio warned.
