Police have arrived at the Etobicoke barbecue restaurant which has decided to not close its doors in accordance to the Toronto and Peel region lockdown orders.
Toronto and Peel announced the 28-day lockdown on Monday, which would make it so that restaurants like the Adamson Barbecue can not serve diners indoors, only though takeout.
”Why we are getting singled out and the big, multinational corporations are all essential,” said Adam Skelly, owner of Adamson Barbecue, on Instagram.
“Come on guys. Enough is enough. We're opening.”
A city of Toronto spokesperson told CP24 that “the City is aware of a restaurant promoting their opening in defiance of provincial orders. Should any business that is prohibited to open do so, it will be investigated and appropriate enforcement action will be taken."
Video posted by Global News' Kamil Karamali show Skelly blasting "Rage Against The Machine" song Killing In The Name Of, which features the repeated line "F— you, I won't do what you tell me."
Videos show the lineup at the Adamson Barbecue growing. Police are reportedly ticketing vehicles entering the property. The owner of the restaurant has not been fined as of yet.
