Conservative Shadow Minister for Health Michelle Rempel Garner criticized the Trudeau Liberals' vaccine rollout plan, and the country's inability to conduct tests rapidly at Tuesday's press conference.

The criticism came after Trudeau's press conference where he revealed that Canada's access to vaccines may not be as timely as other countries, due to the inability to produce the vaccines at home.

"We've learned that Canada will be behind other major countries in receiving administering a vaccine. Mexico will be distributing its vaccine to its population as early as December, and we've heard similar news out of the United States and other countries around the world," said Rempel Garner.

Rempel Garner criticized the Trudeau government's negligence in not having education programs about the vaccine, keeping Canadians in the dark for what the vaccine rollout will look like in the coming months.

"This is gross incompetence that will cost Canadians their lives and their jobs," she said.

When Trudeau was asked on Tuesday why vaccines would take longer to get to Canadians than in other countries, Trudeau said that Canadians had to remember "that Canada has no longer any domestic production capacity for vaccines. Countries like the US, Germany, and the UK do have domestic pharmaceutical facilities, which is why they're obviously going to prioritize helping their citizens first."
