"But the prime minister says that he doesn't think much about monetary policy. That's no surprise, after all, it's Justinflation."

Conservative Shadow Minister for Finance Pierre Poilievre attacked the Trudeau Liberals over their reckless spending and deficits during the 44th Parliament's first Question Period this afternoon.

"The cost of government is driving up the cost of living. Almost a half a trillion dollars of inflationist, Liberal deficits mean more dollars chasing fewer goods, driving higher prices," said Poilievre.

Cost of living was recently found to be the top concern for Canadians this winter, topping even the pandemic as the most important issue, according to Global News.

According to a new Ipsos poll released this week, the cost of living has skyrocketed as a concern for Canadians. This is particularly the case for essential goods like food and gas.

"But the prime minister says that he doesn't think much about monetary policy. That's no surprise, after all, it's Justinflation."

Speaker Rota would take a moment to remind members of parliament that they should only refer to other MPs by their title or their ridings (though it was a pun.)

Trudeau chalked up the inflation to "silly partisan games."

"WE know what Canadians are facing is a serious situation... First of all, in disagreement with the Conservatives, we invested to support Canadians through the pandemic, which wasn't just the right solution for the health crisis, was also the right solution to make sure our economy would come roaring back," said Trudeau.

"Every time he creates a new program, the cost of the said object goes up. For example, he spent $70 billion on 'affordable housing,' to make housing prices go up by almost 300,000 dollars. Many members of this house were not even born when Liberals first started to promise to make daycare affordable," said Poilievre.
