Conservative Shadow Minister of Jobs and Industry Pierre Poilievre answered a questioned posed by a Liberal MP on Thursday, where the Carleton MP highlighted how and why all parties besides the Conservatives are "the same."

The question, which came from Kingston and the Islands MP Mark Gerretsen,  asked Poilievre to explain how it was possible that the Bloc Quebecois, the New Democrats, and the Green Party all supported Bill C-10—Suggesting that Poilievre's "borderline conspiracy" was impossible, since it was supported by everyone except the Conservatives.

Poilievre answered: Why do the Bloc, the NDP, and the Liberals all support the bill? It's simple; They're all the same! They all believe in putting the state above the citizen. That's the core of their ideology. They believe in worshipping at the altar of the state. They all believe that big government should decide, and that the people should just follow... They all saw, in the words of the finance minister, a 'political opportunity' in COVID."

In April of this year, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said that the pandemic serves as a "window of political opportunity," specifically in regards to childcare.

Bill C-10 passed early on Tuesday morning, at a final tally of 196 to 112. The bill will now go to Senate, where Senators have said that there is a "zero percent chance" that the bill gets approved before Parliament's summer break.
