WATCH: Prominent lawyer Harmeet Dhillon schools Piers Morgan on the Constitution

Prominent lawyer Harmeet Dhillon schooled anti-Trump pundits on British television on how Constitutional division of power operates in America.

Dhillon, the former vice chairwoman of the California Republican Party, appeared on Monday's breakfast programme episode of "Good Morning Britain" but was treated poorly by her on-air broadcaster, Piers Morgan.

As a passionate Trump supporter, Dhillon expressed that she was confident in the president's re-election. Morgan questioned: "Why, given Donald Trump's woeful handling of this pandemic which has led to America having over 20 percent of the world's deaths from this virus and is now having over 1,000 people a day dying, record infection rates all over America. It's out of control and yet Donald Trump is almost acting like an ostrich."

While clashing over coronavirus quarantine rules and restrictions across the United States, Dhillon stated: "The President has very limited powers over these types of issues."

"Head in the sand pretending it’s not happening. It's all happened on his watch," Morgan alleged, asking: "Why should Americans vote for him?"

Dhillon answered, "Well there’s a lot of propaganda and untruth in your question Piers but in reality, our system of government is very different from your own."

She accused Morgan of suggesting misleading information to viewers about President Donald Trump's accountability. The British talking head attempted to place fault on Trump for the country's COVID-19 tied mortality rate, but Dhillon deconstructed the nation's federalist design which splits power between state and federal governments.

As Dhillon defended the president, Morgan interjected, "Sorry can you stop talking for a moment?"

"Excuse me," he repeated without hesitation. "Sorry is there a problem with your hearing?" Morgan rudely chastised his invited guest, much to the amusement of others cackling on-screen. The puppets joined in the taunting session, folding their arms and laughing inaudibly.

Morgan then prodded, “You [claimed] I said a load of untruths! Name one untruth that I said.”

Clapping back, Dhillon explained state-by-state governance: "That the president is responsible for all of these deaths and all these decisions. He does not have police power in the United States. 50 governors have that power."

"Well he has the power to tell people wear masks!" Morgan clambered.

Dhillon levelled that Trump "has no legal right to do that," branding Morgan's words as "ignorant."

Morgan persisted, "He has the power to say from his platform: wear a damn mask! Doesn't he?"

"He has the power to stand at the presidential podium and tell the American people to take the virus seriously, to wear a mask, and to support scientists like Dr. Anthony Fauci rather than discredit them and lead to questions about whether they should be fired," Morgan pressed, referencing Trump's Florida rally at Miami-Opa Laka Airport after midnight early Monday.

The crowd had chanted, "Fire Fauci! Fire Fauci!” while Trump jested, "Don't tell anybody, but let me wait until a little bit after the election."

Morgan then barked,"You can’t filibuster me. It's my programme."

Television presenter Susanna Reid cheekily intervened, "It’s like interviewing yourself, isn’t it?"

Dhillon later claimed on Twitter that she was told she would be joined by Ronald Reagan Jr. Instead, 45 minutes after the originally promised hit time, she was backed into a debate against "two wrong, book-selling windbags" Frank Luntz and Jeffrey Archer, a move she called an act of "bait-and-switch" by producers.

In a series of fiery tweets, Dhillon slammed "Mr free speech book" Morgan who interrupted her multiple times and continually spoke over her.

"Sorry if the facts don't fit your tendentious narrative guys — but I'm sticking to them," Dhillon wrote, adding, "I don’t mind a frank exchange of views but I won't be bullied & cut off by biased &ignorant hectoring. Lord Archer wheezing on about the electoral college... You live in a monarchy & are in the 'House of Lords,' please don’t lecture us about how a constitutional republic works!"

Her outspoken posts triggered the GMB host to ban Dhillon from the ITV show. "Relax luv, you’ll never be invited back," Morgan snapped back curtly. Dhillon volleyed, "bye."
