WATCH: Democrat Senator Dick Durban says comparing Antifa to Capitol rioters is 'an insult' to those who died on Jan. 6

"We need to be abundantly clear that the white supremacists and other extremists are the most significant domestic terrorism threat facing the United States today," Durban said.

FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the US Senate today about the January 6 Capitol hill riot. In the course of questioning, Senator Dick Durban (D-IL) said that there's a "false equivalency" between Antifa and the Capitol Hill rioters.

"I join my Republican colleagues unequivocally," Durban said, "in condemning left-wing violence. But let's stop pretending that the threat of Antifa is equivalent to the white supremacist threat. Vandalizing a federal court house in Portland is a crime. It should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

"But it is not equivalent to a violent attempt to overturn the results of elections nor is it equivalent to mass shootings targeting minority communities. This false equivalency is an insult to the brave police officers who were injured or lost their lives on January 6. As well as dozens of others who were murdered in white supremacist attacks.

"We need to be abundantly clear that the white supremacists and other extremists are the most significant domestic terrorism threat facing the United States today. I hope that everyone in this room can look at the facts and acknowledge this and we can come together in a bipartisan way and face this threat."

Durban's sentiments echo that of other leftist lawmakers, such as President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and others who refuse to recognize the threat of Antifa.

As Andy Ngo pointed out, the violence of Antifa is designed to stretch police resources until they break. And that violence shows no signs of abating. "This has been going on for months on end now, Antifa rioted last year in Portland for more than 120 days in a row, now it's weekly or every other week," Ngo said.

The destruction of the BLM and Antifa riots over the summer of 2020 resulted in the deaths of at least 30 people, and property destruction into the billions.
