Justin Trudeau addressed Canadians for the seventh day in a row as apart of his daily updates amidst the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Trudeau started by thanking the essential workers across the country that are continuing their jobs.
Trudeau confirmed that the House of Commons will be recalled on Tuesday at noon.
MPs will return to the House in order to officially adopt the Trudeau government's proposed emergency measures—measures which include increasing access to Employment Insurance and the Canada Child Benefit. Not all MPs will be present, with only 30 expected to appear to remain consistent with social distancing measures.
"I want to thank you all for helping us slow the spread of COVID-19," said Trudeau. Trudeau encouraged people to stay home and continue to practice social distancing to help the health care system.
We expect the House to meet at noon this Tuesday, at which time we’ll be introducing urgent economic measures so that you, your family, and your business can get the financial support you need during this difficult time. And we’ll work with all parties to make this happen.

"This is a situation in which individual Canadians behaving responsibly will help themselves, help their neighbours, and help their healthcare workers."
When asked if Trudeau would restrict Canadians civil liberties to cut the spread of the virus, Trudeau said that the federal emergency's act would not be taken unless all other steps had been exhausted.
"We continue to work very closely with provinces and jurisdictions to make sure that they're able to do the things that need to be done, and we'll continue to look at if it's necessary to move forward with the emergency act."
Trudeau also assured that the federal government would purchase equipment from re-tooled factories.
Trudeau did not say how long the economic shutdown would last, saying "I wish anyone could give a date of when this will all be behind us."
