Fox News host Tucker Carlson took to his weeknight television program on Tuesday to criticize the Biden administration for the massive surge in illegal immigrants crossing the US border from Mexico.

"Is the Biden administration encouraging the crisis at the border?" Carlson asked. "Hmm, let's see. There are Honduran migrants on camera saying things like 'Joe Biden is gonna help all of us.'"

Carlson asserted that the Biden administration is "doing it on purpose," asking why.

Carlson pointed to two bills which Democrats have proposed in Congress to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants. "One of those bills is called the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, and it grants amnesty to roughly a million immigrants. The only criterion: If they can prove they've worked in agriculture in the US for 180 days over the past few years," lamenting that this is "all American citizenship is worth at this point."

Carlson implied that the ultimate goal is to grant voting power to more people who would vote Democrat to "replace all the disobedient ones who didn't vote [Democrat]."

Carlson pointed to a statement by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who told migrants "we are not saying don't come, we are saying don't come now, because we will be able to deliver safe and orderly process to them as quickly as possible."

Carlson interviewed retired border security Captain Jaeson Jones to discuss the issue.

Jones spoke from an area along the southern border, noting that the highly violent drug cartels which hold a lot of influence on the other side of the border are playing a major role in smuggling migrants across the border.

Jones said that watching the way drug cartels treat people as commodities is a "humbling thing," noting that migrant families seeking to cross the border frequently pay drug cartels thousands of dollars to help them do so.

"So you can see that what is portrayed as just an immigration issue is really perpetrating violence in Mexico," Jones said.

Carlson also interviewed the President of El Salvador on Tuesday, making an argument that illegal immigration to the United States makes Central American countries worse off as well.
